Moxibustion

Moxibustion is another Oriental medical  practise. This treatment uses the same points as acupuncture, but unlike the latter, uses heat as a tool to relieve stress. The heat is transferred by burning an herb called "moxa" obtained from the plant known commonly as Artemis (Artemisia vulgaris).

There are two types of techniques that can be used in this treatment.

Direct Moxibustion: involves putting a cone of moxa the size of a grain on the acupuncture point. This is lit and placed by the therapist on the patient's skin and is removed before it can burn. You experience a comfortable warmth penetrates deep into the skin.

Indirect Moxibustion: This is warming acupuncture points from a distance. One way is by burning a moxa cone on the head of an acupuncture needle inserted at certain points, so heat is transferred through it.

Another way is to use the moxa packaged in the form of tubes similar to cigarettes or cigars. These are lit and passed some distance from the skin.

Both techniques are designed to stimulate acupuncture points known to stimulate the flow of Qi or vital energy,  to generate wellbeing for the patient.

Prices and duration of treatment of moxibustion:
